A 52-year-old woman is scheduled to appear in the Tzaneen Magistrate’s Court on Monday for stealing a pack of chewing gum.
She bought roughly R700 worth of groceries, but forgot to pay for the chewing gum in her hand, and put it in her bag with her phone, absentmindedly. She was stopped by security, arrested, and held until 2am.
She's now facing charges of shoplifting.
