WATCH: Terrifying footage of ship breaking up in the ocean goes viral

This must have been terrifying for those on the ship!
Disaster has struck in the South China Sea as a typhoon destroyed an industrial ship into two pieces.
More than a dozen crew members were left stranded in the sea after the ship caved in.
Emergency services in Hong Kong were alerted to the disaster. The rescue team was dispatched to aid in finding the missing crew members.

The Hong Kong Government Flying Service released a video showing a man being airlifted to the rescue helicopter.

Only three from the 30 crew members were able to be rescued.
It's times like these that show how important it is to understand water safety, especially when at sea.
