The problem was brought to light on Twitter via a video by Roshni Walia, who was a passenger on the aircraft complaining about how the plane's A/C stopped working. The video immediately went viral.

Inside the airplane, passengers started to experience extreme heat and discomfort.
Walia said that the flight was arguably her worst travel experience ever. With a packed flight and having no air-conditioning to cool or ventilate, many passengers felt the effects.

"Everybody is feeling so hot, flight took off 5:30, it's 6:20 now and yet AC is not working. A cancer patient is feeling claustrophobic. The flight should never have taken off if the AC wasn't working," said Walia.
