The moment went viral as many people saw how even national treasures like Ladysmith Black Mambazo could have their performances cut short by loadshedding.

The group performed at the Joburg Theatre on 17 July in honour on Mandela Day.

The SA group were singing their 1979 single, 'Halo My Baby', to a packed audience when loadshedding struck the theatre.

According to SowetanLive, the show was forced into a 45-minute pause. However, when the lights eventually came back on, the group continued their performance.

This was not the first time loadshedding has hit a live performance. Remember this rugby game in Mbombela?
