The singles guide to celebrating Valentine's Day
Updated | By East Coast Breakfast
Are you single and feeling left out? Here are five things you can do to celebrate the day of love on your own!
We know it's very easy to feel left out on Valentine's Day when everyone around you is celebrating the day of love with their significant others, but we've found fun ways you can enjoy your singleness on this day of love - or self-love for you:
1. Laugh it up!
Treat yourself to a funny movie or a stand-up comedy show to laugh the blues away. Laughter boosts your mood, reduces stress, and makes you feel better. Whether you watch it at home or you go out to a show, treat yourself to some good snacks and some laughter.

2. Catch up with someone you miss
We all have some sort of close relationship with someone out there, be it with your siblings, your primary school teacher, your best friend or even your neighbours. Use this time to ask them how they are doing and find out anything new happening in their lives.
Whether you Skype, FaceTime or knock at their door for a short visit, that act of love speaks volumes.

3. Send random gifts to your single friends
We all know that finding love is not easy, we all want affection. Be the one to kill the "Love FOMO" in your friends' lives by sending them random, small gifts to show you love them.
4. Host a singles party
This is the best way to meet new people, make new friends, and potentially find yourself a Valentine's Day partner for next year. Ask your single friends to invite their single friends and make it a THING! With wine, good food, and conversation flowing, everyone is bound to have a good time and not feel left out!
5. Treat yourself
Remember, you are your biggest and most important priority! Give yourself a break and don't beat yourself up about being single. Use this time to discover yourself, to grow, and to enjoy your time doing whatever it is that your heart desires (be safe though).
Either way, you are loved. Happy Valentine's Day!
