LISTEN: Darren, Keri & Sky, KZN reflect on a dark period in our province's history
A year ago, the province is still trying to recover from the devastating looting and riots.
It all happened back in July 2021, where the provinces of KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng were thrown into turmoil due to unrest and looting incidents.

With businesses still trying to come to terms with what had happened a year ago, the community is also still feeling the effects.
As we look to the future, we're reminded about the events that happened in KZN.

Darren, Keri, and Sky took this moment to reflect on life after that unreal period and ask people about how they feel - one year later.
We will never forget what we went through and we will always remember those that lost their lives during this dark time in our history.
Here's how some of our fellow KZN family remember this traumatic period:
Seema Allopi - "Yes 1 year ago we couldn't get milk or bread..one year ago we stood in lines going around the block to get into a shop. One year ago , all our lives turned upside down because low lifes wiring went bonkers...no , the anger over what happened hasn't subsided."
Kate Sanilal - "The fear, anxiety, hopelessness and uncontrollable tears still surface when I think of this...... There is f.....nothing to celebrate ABT this day..... Only if u stood shoulder to shoulder with neighborhood men n women to stop this madness from evading our homes, and our food baskets. Yes.....then give urself a pat on the back... But for those families whose lives wher ripped from under them, left destitute, jobless becos of the looting...think again."
Duane Swanepoel - "The worst is still to come, last year's looting is going to be nothing of what's coming, the fuel, food, living expenses is too much now, we as people can't make it anymore 
"
Tyhileka Barbie Mangenge - "Was pregnant at this time staying next to Pavilion Mall could hear Guns left and right Police trying to stop people its not something we should celebrate."
"This was a very low point.... It was scary."
