Jason was minding his own business trying to watch some Rugby World Cup matches when a freakish tide came to KZN.
Guys, something happened on our shores that we need to talk about.
So this past weekend, KwaZulu-Natal experienced a 'freak wave' that has left five people badly hurt after crashing into a restaurant on the KZN south coast (close to San Lameer).

ECR News Watch reported a story over the weekend that devastating swells have sent shockwaves across SA.
This is due to a massive storm with gale-force winds causing huge waves along much of SA's coastline.
What makes things worse is that an elderly woman has passed away due to these freakish waves.
Darren Maule, Sky Tshabalala, and Carmen Reddy saw a viral video of the wave and had to get hold of the guy who was documenting the whole situation, Jason Livingstone.
Here is the Breakfast team's interview with Jason on Monday, 18 September:
Jason spoke to the Breakfast team about how he was watching rugby and the next thing he know, splash, water all over him.

"Honestly, it was such a massive thing that happened on our shores. Like I was watching rugby and the next thing you know a whole restaurant was underwater," says Jason.
