That time of the month for any and every woman is a very sensitive topic that requires delicate care.
The Girls Longboard Crew is an initiative that saw the importance of helping destitute girls in underprivileged communities receive sanitary products to assist in that very important time of their lives.
Once a month Girls Longboard Crew skates along the Durban promenade to raise funds to give to Subz, a Durban based company that makes reusable pads for girls in poor communities.
Melissa Wright, founder of the skating crew started this because she knew there were a lot of girls out there who wanted to skate but were too scared to do it alone, and she also wanted to help through her idea.
The need for sanitary items in the communities is a big issue and Melissa knew something needed to be done.
