Good news for motorists as there is an expected February petrol price drop

Motorists can breathe a sigh of relief coming out of 'Januworry'.
February is set to bring with it another drop in the petrol price.

According to Business Tech, the drop in price may not be massive, but it will help ease some of the financial strain South Africans are feeling at the moment.
According to the information from Central Energy Fund (CEF), petrol is set to come down by 25 cents a litre, while diesel is on track for a 50 to 60 cents per litre drop.

Here are the expected prices drop that motorists can expect during the month of February:
- Petrol 93: decrease of 18 cents a litre;
- Petrol 95: decrease of 25 cents a litre;
- Diesel 0.05%: decrease 50 cents a litre;
- Diesel 0.005%: decrease of 63 cents a litre;
- Illuminating paraffin: decrease of 46 cents a litre.
The Department of Energy has further commented on how these changes are not set in stone as they don't cover other potential changes in the slate levy adjustments or retail margin changes.
