The South African Weather Services issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for damaging waves between Plettenberg Bay and Richards Bay.

A few days before King Misuzulu kaZwelithini performs the ritual of entering the sacred royal kraal, there is another storm in the Zulu royal court. Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi has explained that performing the ritual does not amount to being installed as a king of the Zulu nation.

Cosatu has indicated it will hold a national strike on August 24 against the escalating food prices, fuel costs, and loadshedding. The announcement was made on its Twitter page on Monday. Fuel prices rose by more than R2 a litre for diesel and petrol in July. South Africans living inland now pay around R25 for a litre of petrol and just over R27 for a litre of diesel.
