Umgeni Water said on Wednesday that Eskom will be shutting down a power station in Howick, west of Durban, on Thursday to conduct maintenance on the Midmar water works electrical infrastructure.

Four people have been arrested in connection with the shooting incident at a Pietermaritzburg tavern that left four people dead and eight injured.

More than 12,000 people have signed an online petition on change.org calling for the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and the US government to allow Novak Djokovic to compete in the US Open. He is unable to enter the US due to rules that require travellers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Netflix Inc said they lost 970,000 subscribers from April through June. They plan to launch an ad-supported tier next year.

Statistics South Africa has published its latest consumer price index, showing that annual consumer price inflation has broken through the upper limit of the Reserve Bank’s target range for the second consecutive month. Inflation was recorded at 7.4% in June 2022, up from 6.5% in May 2022.
