The Independent Police Investigative Directorate said a statement has still not been taken from Muldersdrift shooting victim Len Cloete. Apparently Cloete is recovering at home and IPID investigators were still going to consult with Cloete’s doctors.

Alexander Zverev has been fined $40,000 (R610,000) and made to forfeit more than $30,000 (R470,000) in prize money after being thrown out of the Mexican Open for attacking the umpire's chair. The world number three struck the umpire's chair several times with his racquet, leading to the sanctions. He was fined $20,000 (R305,000) each for verbal abuse and unsportsmanlike conduct - the maximum amount the ATP can impose.Zverev still faces the threat of a ban as the ATP investigate further.

Eskom's tariff increase for 2022/23 will be 9.61% higher, the National Energy Regulator of SA (Nersa) revealed. Eskom had asked for a 20.5% increase, including the previous allowable revenue.
