Can you believe this? Uber will let users in Canada order weed
They took an opportunity to expand their market.
Every business will always look towards their opportunities to grow and expand and apply them if possible. This was the case for Uber.
Them tapping into the cannabis market for the first time means they now open their app to more people; a new community.

The news was shared by the the company spokesperson who told Reuters on Monday that Uber Eats users in Ontario, Canada, would be able to order cannabis starting Monday, November 29.
The UberEats that side have partnered with Tokyo Smoke to make this possible.

Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said in April that the company would consider delivering weed in the United States if cannabis were decriminalised at a federal level. Luckily, Canada legalised recreational marijuana in 2018.
One of the spokespeople shared, "We will continue to watch regulations and opportunities closely market by market. And as local and federal laws evolve, we will explore opportunities with merchants who operate in other regions."

Sadly, users cannot have the weed delivered. They will only be able to place orders for pick-up, Uber Eats' head of communications for delivery, Meghan Casserly, confirmed to The Verge.
What a interesting expansion from Uber. We hope that our very own Uber can expand in other industries as well eventually.
