The One Direction break-up was one of the most tragic losses in the music industry, but it's great to know that another former group member has announced he will be going solo.
Liam Payne confirmed his solo career with a post on Twitter, explaining his decision to sign with Capitol Records and giving credit to the band that catapulted him to stardom.
