After burning to ashes during the KZN unrest, The Big Favour helps this hardware rebuild
Updated | By East Coast Radio
South Africa Hat definitely helped start the rebuild of a deserving business.
It is sad that people's lives are still harshly affected by the KZN unrest, even months after it happened. This hardware store owned by Dhanasagren Govender is one of the many that still isn't operating because they are left with absolutely nothing.
He shared his story with The Big Favour, detailing how devastated he was the exact day he heard that businesses were being torn down by looters.

The hardware store was already not doing well, so they didn't have security to ensure that looters did not gain access during the time.
We appealed for help from the police but they couldn't help as they were handling worse cases, I tried to get into the area to stop them but they wouldn't listen. My whole life's effort and saving has now gone in vain, I've lost everything from my vehicles to the business. There is nothing left to recover.- Dhanasagren Govender
