1. UK approves Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for rollout from 'next week'

U.K. regulators have cleared Pfizer and BioNTech’s Covid-19 vaccine ahead of decisions in the U.S. and European Union. Britain becomes the first western country to approve a Coronavirus shot. The government said the vaccine, which was 95% effective in a final analysis of trial data, will be available from next week.

2. Lotto operator denies rigging claims 

The National Lotteries Commission (NLC) maintains that the number selection in Tuesday night's draw was all above board. In the strangest Powerball lottery draw, Tuesday night’s winning Powerball numbers were 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and the Powerball number was also 10. 20 Millionaires were made, one of which is a pensioner in Sandton.

3. South Korea changes law to allow K-Pop’s BTS to defer military service for two years

The South Korean government has passed a new law that will allow K-Pop stars to postpone their compulsory military service. The move comes as the government acknowledges that K-Pop has played a huge part in enhancing Korea’s global image. Able-bodied men between the ages of 18 and 28 are expected to serve around 20 months in the military and must put their original career on hold until this is completed, but a new law will allow the likes of BTS group members to defer their service. 

4. Vaping could increase the risk of Lung disease - study

Researchers at Boston University shared interesting findings: The use of e-cigarettes could increase the chances of developing respiratory problems. The new study, which surveyed 21, 618 participants, found an increased risk of respiratory disease among both former and current e-cigarette users. The study found that vaping could increase the risk of Lung disease by 40%. 

5. Brazil bank robbers leave cash scattered on road

Dozens of gunmen broke into a bank in Brazil and ended up leaving cash scattered all over the streets in an attempt to distract police. Videos show the masses of cash being picked up by people. This type of stunt is not new. In WWII the Germans planned to drop fake currency over London to weaken the British pound, it was abandoned. AND in the popular Netflix series, Money Heist, the same plan was concocted but never executed.
