Will.I.Am comes clean about stealing DJ Lag's song

In the last few days, DJ Lag and his fans noticed that an American artist, DJ Megan Ryte, had a song that sounded very similar to one of his. And people were upset.
In case you missed it: local, Grammy-nominated artist, DJ Lag, accused DJ Megan Ryte of stealing one of his songs, 'Ice Drop', and using it in her track, 'CULTURE' ft. Will.I.Am and A$AP Ferg.

It's been such a heated topic that Carol Ofori and Tinashe even discussed it and tried to figure out if she really did steal the song.

One of the reasons why people were upset by this is, looking past the fact that it is very clearly the same song, is that Megan has yet to say something about this "coincidence" and disabled comments on the YouTube video for the track.
It clearly seemed like she was just trying to avoid any backlash without acknowledging what she had done.

To everyone's surprise, the first person to now address the situation is none other than Black Eyed Peas member, Will.I.Am:

Although DJ Lag is yet to release an official response to Will.I.Am's apology, the fans, and Lag supporters are having none of it!
Some of the comments include the fact that he did not even get the name 'Ice Drop' right and that Ryte should still apologise as she had a major input in the song.
Carol Ofori gave her opinion on the situation and decided to ask KZN their opinion as well:

Music copyright can sometimes be a very complicated situation, but we love our local talent and they should be paid their dues.
We're definitely keeping our eyes and ears open to see what happens next.
