This is what Carol Ofori does to prepare for the holidays

You've heard it from the diva's mouth, so keep a notebook handy...
Being a mom is a full-time job. One that Carol Ofori does really well.
Besides having to manage everything with her husband back and forth from JHB and DBN, she also plans and coordinates everything in a totally boss way.
Since she is so pedantic about planning and prepping, we asked her for some advice on how we can prepare better for the holidays.
Here are some of her tips to stay on top of the holidays by planning ahead:
1. She always tries to book a holiday getaway early. Not only does this help with getting a better rate with price hikes during the Festive Season, but it also helps you have something to look forward to and everyone loves that.
2. Staying ahead with gifts. She does her research and always has an idea as to what she wants to get the kids for Christmas, so it's easier to buy beforehand. Of course, the trick is keeping it a secret.
3. If you are hosting Christmas lunch or you're a guest - be prepared. Shop ahead of time by planning out the menu. If you are a guest, make sure to coordinate with the host and take something along. It's always good practice to take something with to the host's home. Also make sure you are prepared for everyone's dietary preferences. Nothing is worse than not having food for someone.
4. Live in the moment. So often we get caught up in the planning and prepping that we forget to actually enjoy each other's company and make memories. Be present and make sure you plan some family activities, for the kids and the adults. Staying grateful is so important at this time of year.

5. Be prepared for anything. With loadshedding on the rise over the past couple of months, be prepared for the possibility of a dark Christmas. Candles, charged up lights, food warmers, gas stoves, and snacks for the kids are vital. Also, take the weather into consideration when you are planning. KZN is known for its unpredictable weather, so always have a back up plan if you are planning on being outdoors.
