What African parents do when you say you've had enough to eat...
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Can you really leave your plate full at the dinner table?
Being African comes with a host of traditions. Some universally known, others not so much.
We love the sense of tradition, but we are nervous that perhaps over time it may get lost in the nooks and crannies of our modern lifestyles.
But if there is one tradition that really speaks volumes, it has got to be the traditions surrounding food.
One TikToker took the opportunity to share a video of her dad feeding her son his dinner.
The young boy looks old enough to feed himself, but we see his grandfather taking a spoonful of food and placing it into the boy's mouth.
The caption read: "African parents when you say you're full."
WATCH what happened below on the video shared to TikTok:

For the most part, people resonated with the video and the act of endearment from dad.
Well, to some extent anyway. Check out some of the comments below:
Alexandra Herrema: "I understand their love and concern, but also we gotta let kiddos voice and decide when they’re full"
Alexandra Strickland: "Y'all. My kids are starving before dinner and "full" after one bite."
chocolate baddie: ""you're gonna sit at the table and you won't leave till the food on that plate is gone"
Maiara M Macario: "In Latin America is because our parente didn't have food enough so they got the feeling that you needed to eat everything in your plate. My parents +"
