A woman in the protection services industry who shares the many capes she wears in a day...
This week, Carol Ofori celebrates a woman who is all about empowering other women with the information and tools they require to protect themselves.
Our safety is always taken for granted. This is something that we have to address on a daily basis because crime breathes and lives around us all the time. Sadly, it doesn't take a break.
Cue Trisha Gokool Parshotam, the director and marketing director of Dragon Protection Services.
For Parshotam, the title of 'mother' supersedes everything else in life. She is most proud of her beautiful family, which consists of her husband and business partner, and her two kids.
Dragon Protection Services was established in 1996 by her husband and with her experience in marketing, she joined the company as Marketing Director.
Her rich history started with her studies at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She also worked in online strategic marketing, online marketing, as well as spread her entrepreneurial wings at her family's business.
Parshotam was also recognised in Standard Bank's KZN top businesswoman for 2019.
Although she forms part of a predominantly male industry, she believes that both men and women hold their "own special magic that creates brilliance and makes a super team."
Her main focus is to encourage and equip women with the tools and tactics to protect themselves.

Sharpening their awareness and not becoming a victim to crime is her mission - and she tries to achieve this with various corporate talks, health and wellness check-ins, seminars, and more.
