#WCW: "Not Today..." says Nomthi Mnisi after surviving a home invasion
Updated | By East Coast Radio
We take our hats off for a woman who shared her crime story with us. She is our Woman Crush Wednesday...
Carol Ofori shared a video with us about a real life crime story that involved a South African woman who is a survivor of an attempted break-in and home invasion.
She created a video recount of what happened to her as way of sharing this with others and we think that this was also a step for her towards healing. The video shows reenactments and also actual footage from the night it all happened.
Nomthi Mnisi shares her story whilst trying to stay cool and calm, but we can hear that sharing her account takes her back to that night and all that comes with going through a traumatic experience.
Today we wanted to highlight her story and dedicate our Woman Crush Wednesday to her and the fact that she is embracing her story to help others. She is trying to bring light to the crime stats in our country, whilst also bringing some light to how you determine your circumstance.
WATCH the video below of her personal recount of her story (courtesy of YouTube):
Being a survivor of a crime can be devastating, both mentally and physically, so to be able to come out speaking your truth and sharing that with the world is admirable and brave.
Nomthi, we commend you for being the thinker, the person of reason under such stressful circumstances, your story is a lesson for everyone, not just women, and we celebrate you, your healing, and your bravery.
