There's no denying that we all love to eat out, it's that one pleasure that we afford for ourselves as a treat. Whether that means we visit a five-star restaurant now and then or our favourite fast food restaurant, we all have our favourites...

And, of course, there have been moments where you hear stories, you know those stories that reveal details about eateries that you wish you never heard. There are even some Facebook groups that are dedicated to sharing the ghastly details and some even have video or photographic evidence (which makes it worse).

Of course there are some of us who live by the belief that what you don't see doesn't hurt you. And that's your right, so no judgement there. But then there are those of us that are of the belief that once you blast your image, there's no turning back.

There's a complete separation with the particular outlet, and this is even if that person didn't personally experience seeing the dirty kitchen, the chef who didn't wash his hands after he used the washroom, or that creepy crawly that ran across your table...

After a delivery man shared a video of a rat infested kitchen at a Popeye's Chicken outlet in the U.S, the outlet has closed its doors indefinitely. The power of social media and to think the power of one video... that literally shut down the entire store.

"This Franchisee only operates this one location, and it is being closed indefinitely. This single restaurant does not reflect our strong food safety and cleanliness standards across Popeyes. Reports also reveal that DC Health inspected this Popeyes location three times this year. On April 21, the company was hit by four violations, including one for an exterior door that was “not rodent safe” and for dead insects in the ceiling tiles." (MSN)

It was also noted that the management were given two weeks to rectify the problems. An inspection that was conducted in June, showed no violations, but sadly this was not kept up by the management as this video took place last month.
