A 14-year-old gets into an argument with his parents and in a rant to take out his frustration, he starts digging out the garden, which turns into his own man cave... six years later.
We've all had those moments of frustration, where something compels us to leave the room so that we can calm down and compose ourselves. Some people need fresh air, others need a sweet treat, and some, well, some, need to physically engage with something so that they can let go of their anger.
That's what happened with this teenager, who had an argument with his parents. Andres Canto was 14 when he got into a dispute with his parents and decided to leave the house and go to the backyard to let go of his frustration.
Andres took his grandfather's pickaxe and started digging into the garden. What started off as a way of letting go of his anger, evolved into a man cave project.
"Six years after the now 20-year-old first broke ground, he has created his very own underground man cave, with steps leading deep down to a structure comprising of a living and bedroom," Mirror reports.
Talk about persevering through your anger...
This young man has certainly opened up some light on turning anger into something productive.
Andres is now an actor and says that he doesn't know what sparked his dedication to continue digging for six years after that first night of anger. But it turned into something of a project.
The project was escalated into full gear when his friend brought through a pneumatic drill and they worked for long hours digging almost 10 feet into the earth, and to think all in the backyard of his parent's home, located in La Romana, Spain.
Andres even went as far as to research excavation techniques so that he could remove rubble from the earth.
"Andres has plans to expand yet further, with the cave currently boasting two rooms, a heating system, Wi-Fi provided by his phone transmitting from the cave entrance, and a music system," Mirror reported.
Andres admits that he was always a kid with imagination and therefore when this became a project, he embraced it.
