WATCH: Teacher sweeps an extremely dangerous snake out his classroom with a broom...
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Just as e.tv played 'Anaconda' this past weekend, we see another snake story slither to the surface...
There's no doubt about the fact that when we hear about snakes, there is an influx of anxiety. That was clear when it became known to us that an Anaconda named Medusa escaped from her home in Phoenix two weeks ago.
Even though she was found, and no one was harmed, it still gives us the heebie-jeebies... and rightfully so! Unless you are a snake lover and you live for these kinds of thrills.
In this case, a teacher in the Free State had to put on his big boy pants and usher out an uninvited slithery guest from his classroom. A Rinkhals snake is considered to be extremely dangerous.
"When threatened it is very quick to disappear down a hole but if cornered it will generally stand its ground, form a hood and is quick to spit, flicking the head forward when doing so." (African Snake Bite Institution)
The eNCA report said that: "The Retief High School teacher says he was writing on the board when he spotted something strange moving on the ground. His quick thinking averted a potential disaster as rinkhals can spit toxic venom up to 3 metres. Once outside, the snake was humanely captured and released nearby." (eNCA)

We guess that Christo, the teacher, is definitely the one that is inadvertently elected to get rid of the geckos and roaches at home. It's quite fitting that the snake decided to enter a science class...
The danger of a Rinkhals is no joke, and this man is definitely a hero for taking action so quickly. Luckily no one was hurt...
