WATCH: Like sands through the hourglass... 'Days of Our Lives' dumped by e.tv
If you haven't mastered the cry from Marlena then your sand has run out...
The infamous hour glass intro and the ominous dramatic music that sets the tone for Marlena's return from death has been a source of entertainment for many South Africans for many years.
After the popular American TV soapie, 'Days of Our Lives', migrated over to e.tv from SABC 3, fans were still happy, because they were still able to get their dose of soapie heaven.

As South Africans, we are generally quite a resilient nation, but in the same breath, we also don't like change. So, if you are a 'Days of Our Lives' fan, you will not be happy to hear that the soapy is coming to an end.
"Days of Our Lives will end on 11 April on e.tv, a few years after the broadcaster took over the soap from SABC3." (News24)
By adding new things to e.tv's schedule and trying to create new content, some of the things have to go since there are only so many hours in a day. Days of Our Lives is discontinued from 11 April.
