It's not uncommon to hear about stories where people have big cats as pets. In fact, we have seen videos erupt showing how some of them escape their enclosures in residential areas and go wandering around.

This leaves residents completely shocked and scared, especially because as much as we live in Africa and are accustomed to being the hub of wildlife, we are not used to seeing them in our yards or in this case, your neighbour's yard...

Teachers at a daycare facility in Boksburg were shocked to see a tiger peeking over the fence from their neighbour's yard last week. They came outside to check on the kids during playtime and saw the tiger looking over the fence at the kids.

Talk about scary. Of course it is scary because as much as we are not experts, what we do know about tigers is that they can be deadly. It is in their natural instinct to prey on their food... case in point, Shere Khan from 'The Jungle Book'.

"Teachers were shocked to learn that the schools’ neighbours have been keeping not one but two fully grown white tigers on their property, metres away from young children with only a seemingly low fence preventing the big cats from jumping over." (IOL)

Check out a video of the two tigers playing in their yard (we have to admit they do look adorable).

The teachers have also shared that although playtime on that side of the property has stopped since they found out about the tigers, many parents have removed their kids from the daycare, obviously out of fear.

"The daycare has reported to the SPCA and the local councillor trying to address the situation, but they have hit a dead end. This is because the owners, "Matthew and Anneline Kruger had apparently complied with all the regulations in Gauteng regarding the keeping of exotic animals on their premises." (IOL)

See another video below from Anneline playing and doting over the big cats. We don't understand and it's not that we are disapproving of their way of life, but as parents we do understand from the other side as well.
