WATCH: Kearsney College turns 100 and we send them some love
Updated | By East Coast Radio
We take a look at Kearsney College and their 100-year heritage...
As parents, we all want what's best for our children. Equipping them with the tools that they require to be the best they can be when they become young adults and adults is vital.
Kearsney College offers that and then some.
They don't just have a remarkable reputation, but we have seen the quality of their students and these boys show us that it is still possible to ignite passion, respect, and engagement within schools.
Of course, we are not saying that this is not possible at any other school, but we have interacted with some of the boys that attend this school, and they have displayed consistent traits for the characteristics that Kearsney stands for.
Check out the video for their virtual celebration concert that was released in June this year.
The school started planning for their centenary celebration seven years ago, but due to the pandemic, their plans had to take a different route. The headmaster, Elwyn van den Aardweg, said that the pandemic did not "hamper the school’s dynamism and their pupils continue to excel in all facets of their learning and all-round development.
"He was happy to announce, in spite of the challenges, the Class of 2020 produced arguably the best matric results in Kearsney’s history," IOL reports.
We recently had the boys choir visit our Hands Of Hope fundraiser at the Johnson Park in Durban, and besides wowing us with their performance, we heard about their 100-year celebration. We hope that this can serve as a commemoration to all the teachers, staff, students, and the heritage that they school prides itself on.
