WATCH: How would you feel about female-only parking lots?

We're not going to lie, having the moms and tots parking bays in mall parking garages are really helpful when you are alone with the kids. The best part is that you don't have to walk long distances whilst tending to a fussy kid or kids, whilst also still trying to steer your shopping cart...

It can be stressful for many moms and dads who find themselves in uncharted territory. But never have we ever thought of the negative implications that are associated with these designated parking bays.

When it comes to these designated parking spots, we have found them extremely helpful, especially when you are in a rush with the kids and just need some grace from the parking angels. 

So when we heard about these dedicated women-only parking garages in Perth, Australia, we were quite intrigued. We thought what better way to celebrate being a woman than to have dedicated parking bays?

However, not everyone is feeling that way and we admit, it has opened up a line of thought that we didn't think about. One big contention is the fact that having a space that is particularly dedicated to women only, opens them up to danger when it comes to being targeted by criminals. 

"The City of Perth began piloting “female friendly” parking lots with higher security in 2016 to test a safer lot for women, according to WAToday. However, the idea was met with mixed reviews at the time." (Daily Dot)

The thing is now that we think about it, there are female only taxis in some countries in the Middle East, for reasons that have to do with the religious and cultural practices of these places. 

But nevertheless, we have heard some horror stories when it comes to getting into one of these female taxis alone. One such story involved a woman who was almost kidnapped and managed to get away while the car was moving. 

So there's something to think about, it's like being stuck somewhere in the middle, where there are pros but there are also some cons...
