Trevor brought us his comedic relief at the Savanna Premium Cider South African Tour. Never short of jokes, Trevor had Durbanites cackling all weekend.
Along with sharing this exciting scoop, Carol Ofori asked him the burning question over rumours of allegedly receiving R33-million from SA Tourism. This hearsay has taken centre stage on Twitter, but, finally, we have the truth on the matter.

Trevor first comments on the allegations stating: "This is the thing... I’ve learnt about media online is that people don’t read or they just write articles. Sometimes, I just think it’s AI that’s writing these articles."
He further goes on to mention that he has not struck a deal with SA Tourism, neither has anyone approached him. He was "talking to hotel groups, cause you know South Africa, we need to boost our tourism".
It's one of the most important sources of our GDP and so I was just talking to these guys who own hotels, Airbnbs, game lodges, and safaris, about how we can promote South Africa to the world. And then I wake up, guys, I wish I had all this money that these people gave me in these newspapers.
The viral attention the matter has been getting has called for friends and family members close to Trevor Noah to wonder how much moola he has precisely. "If my family member had R33-million, he best be sharing it with us," shares one Tweep.
According to IOL, it was revealed that the chairperson of the portfolio committee on tourism, Tandi Mahambehlala, had asked Tourism Minister Patricia de Lille about the issue of Trevor Noah’s promotional video advertisement. The minister insisted that the R33-million would not be coming from taxpayers' pockets and was instead a contribution from the Tourism Business Council of Southern Africa.
