SANDF launch another bakery in the army as a way of being sustainable

Nothing better than being resourceful...
The effects of the pandemic have been expansive, from not only affecting our personal lifestyles but also the government sectors. Of course when it comes to the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), it appears as though all things are bright and peachy.
But even the SANDF have been negatively effected by the economical state of affairs due to the pandemic. However, they have not used this as an excuse but rather as a motivation to do something productive and innovative.
The SANDF recently launched their sixth bakery service, this was their way of ensuring that they keep their soldiers fed, whilst also making some money. The budget cuts haven't been good on anyone, but instead of whining, they are responding with action.
"The new bakery was opened at the Army Support base Potchefstroom. Soldiers were pictured working with large-scale ovens and baking all kinds of goods. Their slogan reads, “Bake my day”, definitely a positive spin on word play. The bakery will also work with local markets to benefit nearby communities." (MSN)

Whether or not this is their strong suit, we admire their drive in doing something that not only allows them to feed their own, but also generate a source of income and service nearby communities.
In that sense, we wanted to share our appreciation for their resourcefulness this Monday. Well done, SANDF!
