'Queen Sono' could be returning to our screens as petition gains momentum!

Fans of the local Netflix series were shocked when they announced that the show will not be returning for a second season, but they aren't letting it go without a fight.
'Queen Sono' was destined for great things.

With queen Pearl Thusi as the lead and it being the 'first' African Netflix Original series, it was an instant hit with local audiences.
That's why it was a big blow when the streaming giant announced that it could not renew the show for a highly-anticipated second season.

Netflix said that there had been many production issues, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, which made filming even more difficult.
At the time, Pearl let it be known that she was still incredibly grateful to have been able to be a part of the show and also said that everything happens for a reason.

However, she's clearly decided that she won't be giving up on the series without a fight and honestly we love to see it.
And so the 'Renew Queen Sono' petition was born:

Without any hesitation, fans of the show immediately started signing the petition, tweeting about it, and have been VERY vocal in their support of this movement.

The petition has now been a trending topic on many social media platforms and the unwavering support does not seem to be slowing down.
This is obviously great news for Pearl and the rest of the 'Queen Sono' cast and crew!

The petition has asked for only 7,500 signatures and as of right now, there are 5,187 signatures.
