Not the most ideal place to find a slithery creature...
It seems that as we draw closer to the start of winter, we have more reports of people finding snakes in the most arb places.
This family definitely takes the lead and we completely understand if they have to go for counselling after having to experience this...
Nick Evans shared that he had a busy night last Friday. A fellow snake catcher in Umbilo contacted him about a Black Mamba that had gone into a ceiling in Seaview.
They had actually looked for the snake earlier that day in the house, but to no avail. Then, at around 7pm, they found out that the snake had come out to show itself - in the toilet!
Grant went to investigate. He had to break a large hole in the ceiling, which didn't have a trapdoor. There was a piece of masonite in there. He lifted it, and there was a large Mamba curled up underneath, settled for the night.- Nick Evans
With the assistance from his fellow snake rescuer, Grant Cavanagh, Nick managed to secure the 2.3m long Black Mamba.
Apparently, many of the community police forum members were excited to see the mamba, whilst the family were happy to bid the slithery fellow farewell...
