Can your dog take the bus?

We love them, they are certainly part of the family, and we definitely cannot do without them. But what happens when your furry family member gets lost?

Have you prepared for that? When it comes to preparing for the possibility that our children may get lost, we take the necessary steps to ensure that they know what to do. But what do we do when our pets get lost?

Well perhaps this would be a good case study for all of you pet parents (in case you haven't prepared for it yet). Pepper, a former rescue dog, was out with his family at the park - Charlotte Jones, 25, and Saffron Caps, 23.

He chased some geese and disappeared. After realising that he had lost his family, he did something amazing.

"Pepper walked two and a half miles to a busy town centre station — then hopped on the No.7 Arriva service." (The Sun UK)

She was recognised by a woman on the bus who had called Charlotte to inform her that Pepper was on the Number 7 bus. As much as the woman was kind and generous to look out for Pepper, it seemed Pepper knew which was her stop and got up just before the bus stopped.

She was reunited with her family at the bus stop. A smart little pooch indeed. So maybe teaching your pet the route home is the way to go? If ever they get lost, they can take a bus ride home...
