Peace walk in the name of peace, tranquility, and building classrooms
Building a school to change the lives of the next generation.
Social activist Siyanda Dlamini has dedicated his life to creating peace and tranquility.
One of his initiatives saw him embark on a walk from Durban to Soweto, which he completed earlier in 2022.
Siyanda is based in Mandeni, Northern KwaZulu-Natal. He has taken part in other peace initiatives which include riding bicycles from Soweto to Durban last year. This was to raise awareness about the scourge of gender-based violence (GBV).

His next initiative is to help build four classrooms for Magcekeni Primary School in KwaNongoma, which is on the North of KwaZulu-Natal.
The school was built by the community ten years ago.
A lot of learners have to walk a long distance to reach the school. The school is registered by the government, but it's still in a bad way.

After he had identified the school, Siyanda made contact with the principal of the school. According to Siyanda, the principal calls him every day with the hope that there is progress in raising funds to rebuild the school.
The principal is excited to know that someone is doing something about helping the school be restored back to its glory again.
Siyanda has created a Facebook page for those who are willing to aid in his cause to help children in the area by building these classrooms.
Siyanda has pleaded with the many businesses as well as people who are willing to join him to help to build the classrooms. Organisations such as Build it Pinetown have joined forces with Siyanda to help where they can.
