Peace for the Floyd family...peace
Updated | By East Coast Radio
The verdict in the George Floyd case has come in and the family gets a chance at some form of peace.
Almost a year ago, we found ourselves in a state of rage wondering how anyone could treat another human being like Derek Chauvin did. Finally, justice has been served in the George Floyd case and his family can finally have the peace they deserve.
Former police officer Chauvin was convicted of murdering Floyd on Tuesday and we can firmly say that this is a big win for justice. In true courage, Philonise Floyd, George's brother, said: "We just want everybody to get it together and that we can live with each other in unity and we stand in solidarity with everybody across America." His humbleness in wanting people to conduct themselves peacefully says a lot about the Floyd family and their characters.

In true South African spirit, some of our celebs welcomed the news on their social media accounts.
So happy about the #GeorgeFloyd verdict. Watching it all replay during the trial was so traumatic and I’m just glad that in this case justice has truly been served.

This was a true testament to how we can all come together in times of triumph, but also how we can stick together in solidarity when we need to. One up for mankind in this instance and here's to more in the future...
