Our African Dream: Ndlovu Youth Choir pair up with Master KG for a LIVE performance!
Updated | By East Coast Radio
In aid of Africa Rising Global Livestream and Live Love Non-Profit (#FeedOurCrew and Bridges for Music), the dynamic Ndlovu Youth Choir and Master KG came together to perform at Robben Island.
There's no denying the effects that the pandemic has had on all industries, both locally and globally. When it comes to the performing arts, it was no different, but not being able to engage your passion with the world can be difficult (both as an income driver and as an artist).
This is why we are elated to share that this live collaboration took place as a pre-celebration to #FreedomDay and in support of great causes that help artists during these challenging times and communities.
According to goodthingsguy.com, the event was live-streamed for free globally and received over one-million views. What a wonderful feeling knowing that so many people want to be connected to such a great cause!
During the preamble of the show, an opportunity to share in a VIP experience, live, was offered to the audience by making an online donation of a minimum of R30. The donation would contribute towards "music and live events industry, and charities in sustainability, education and conservation".
"Africa Rising managed to raise R50,000 in food vouchers which will be handed over to #FeedOurCrew and Bridges For Music to help live events professionals struggling to make ends meet in light of the nationwide event restrictions."
Causes like these leave us feeling overwhelmed with pride for our nation and Africa as a whole.
With the melodic sounds of the Ndlovu Youth Choir and Master KG, we are left with goosebumps. Our African dream starts with our talent and the union between our African culture.
Great job, guys! We are #ProudlySouthAfrican!
