Mom reacts to her daughter drawing on the mirror with her lip balm
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Sometimes we need to practice the pause - a long one - so we can parent our kids better.
As time passes us by, the ideologies of parenting become more and more profound.
Not that we are against it all, but it is truly surprising to us, how every decision you make as a parent can literally come back to bite you on the behind at some or other point.
But as a generation of parents, we want to do better by our kids. Just like our parents wanted to do better for us.
A mother who has created something of a stir on social media posted a video on Twitter of her young daughter drawing on the mirror.
The young girl was using lip balm as you would a crayon and she was happily drawing.
"The mother can be heard in the video saying: 'I’m just sitting here thinking about the ass whopping I would’ve gotten if I did this.' Phoenix, however, did not get a punishment. Instead she got a parent who took a big old deep breath, got curious, and first asked about her artwork." (MSN)

Where usually you would find tweeps giving their ruthless commentary, it was quite the opposite.
Many people showed support and love towards the mother for handling the situation this way.
It certainly does make for a better mood for both parent and kid. And also, it helps reinforce a sense of trust and comfort on the child's side.
Instead of instilling fear, this mother has allowed her daughter to feel free, but also learn a lesson.
