LOCAL: Men are caught stealing public plants from a road island, what next?
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Have you ever stolen something from a public place?
There are some things that are just wrong, no circling around it, it's just plain wrong...
Stealing is one of those things. There's no talking your way around stealing. It's wrong and that's that...
Most of the time when it comes to those who are doing the stealing, we can say that they wouldn't want to draw attention to the fact that they are stealing. For obvious reasons of course, they don't want to get into trouble.
But with some people they follow the mentality that if it's done in plain sight, then no one will think you are doing something wrong. Right, no, totally wrong!
These two men were videoed literally uprooting succulent plants from a public space. The road island that separates oncoming traffic is populated with succulents and they are seen casually loading them up in their van.
Never did we think that this would be a thing for people. Especially because these plants are there to create some sort of beauty for drivers. But then we realised that succulent plants are quite pricey.
So perhaps this is the reason behind them stealing it rather than just simply buying a plant from a nursery? Talk about being resourceful in the wrong kind of way...

Some people commented on the post. One person brought up that this was a small crime in comparison to what they police should be concentrating their efforts on. But the truth is one crime leads to another and another and so forth.
Check out some of the responses and comments below to the video from Twitter. It leaves us feeling somewhat proud that people have their morals and values straightened out when it comes to stealing.
Not condoning this, however there are much more serious crimes our police force should be focusing on right now. Priorities!

Actually yes. Stealing is stealing. Small transgressions and lack of accountability opens the door and condones looting at large scale.

I know someone who followed a van that had stolen plants from a house in his street. It went into an office building and off loaded the olants there. It's sad that companies are involved in stealing plants. SA is gone
