LISTEN: “Hopefully he can sprinkle some magic over Bafana Bafana…” says Benni McCarthy
Updated | By East Coast Radio
With a long list of accolades and recently bringing AmaZulu to the CAF Champions League, Carol Ofori took a great opportunity to speak to our very own KZN'er - Benni McCarthy.
There's no denying that we are huge fans of South Africa's legendary football player, and now coach, Benni McCarthy. So when an opportunity arose to chat to him, Carol Ofori took it with both hands..
LISTEN to the interview between Carol Ofori and Benni McCarthy.
There's no doubt that he is one of the most loved and talked about sports personalities in South Africa and around the world. He is Bafana Bafana’s top goalscorer of all time with 31 international goals. This man was also the joint top scorer in the 1998 African Cup of Nations. As if that wasn’t enough, he even features on the 1998 hit 'Shibobo' by TKZee.
We can't enough of that jam and Carol even tried to twist his arm into giving us a personal throwback to that time he sang, but unfortunately, it was a once-in-a-lifetime thing...
Benni McCarthy talks about becoming the new coach to AmaZulu, taking the team to the CAF Champions League for the first time ever after they came second in this season's DStv Premiership, his move to Durban, he even chats about what he thinks about not becoming the coach of his beloved Bafana Bafana.
LISTEN to that time Carol and Sky dish about Benni McCarthy not becoming the new coach for Bafana Bafana...
We definitely see more great things for AmaZulu with the legend coaching them to victory. We hope that KZN can be as warm and welcoming to Benni's family in the near future.
Here's to more wins and more #ProudlySouthAfrican moments...
