Influencer admits she started an OnlyFans account to pay her parents’ rent

The woman joined the infamous website after the pandemic
made it more difficult to make brand deals.
Alexis Griswold, an influencer who has raked up more than 473,000 followers on TikTok and 207,000 followers on Instagram, made the bold move to start an OnlyFans account to help her parents out with money for rent.
The influencer admits that she started exploring the idea of making money on the site after the pandemic made it more difficult to make brand deals to promote on her pages – and bit the bullet in September last year.
Now, the 22-year-old Los Angeles native says that she has over 600 subscribers who pay $16.99 (R255) per month. This means she brings in over R150,000 a month and makes more than enough money to help her parents pay their rent, even after the cut the site takes in commission.
"I do help my parents out and send them money," Alexis says in an interview with LadBible. "I'm really thankful for that. My family, luckily, is really supportive. And they just trust my judgement and how I like to present myself, and they're really supportive of it. So I'm grateful for that."
Alexis admits that she has faced some negativity for joining
the site where she shares Q&A videos and “more personal stuff” than on
TikTok and Instagram, but says that she is trying to use her influence to change
the stereotype the site has.

"Some friends have made comments on it, but I try to just like not let that get to me and explain to them the bigger picture about it,” she explains. "It [OnlyFans] does have a bad reputation, but I feel like it's almost changing with how everyone is starting to use it for different things, other than what it was perceived to be as. And so I feel like people's perspectives are kind of changing on it and it's not as bad as when it first came out."
Alexis continues: "It kind of started off as more of a sexual thing, rather than a fan base platform like it was supposed to be; it kind of got turned into something else. But I feel like the influencer community has kind of taken over it now and it's starting to become something different."

Alexis explains that a lot of time and effort goes into creating her content. "It's a lot more work than what people think it is like, you have to put a lot of work into it,” she says "And it's not like a nine to five job where you get up and someone tells you, 'You have to be here at this time'. You have to put in the work yourself, and it's all on you. So it's definitely a lot more work than people perceive it to be."
