"I found my bestie after 16 years!" Woman finds her BFF, inspires others
Updated | By East Coast Radio
The Twitter story of two friends reuniting after 16 years encourages others to try and locate long lost friends.
Friendships come in all shapes and sizes. Some keep many friends, while others keep a small circle of friends. Then you have those friends that outweigh all other friendships, those BFFs who can't compare to anyone else.
Sometimes friendships fall away due to long-distance and then there are those not-so-rare moments where you lose contact with a friend because they move away. Cue entry for 'social media' - the very contested online platforms that every so often have a positive influence over your life.
After a Twitter user posted on her account that she found her best friend after 16 years, it spurred a long list of requests from other users who wanted to find their long-lost friends.
We were surprised and happy to see so many people jumping on her post to try and find old friends. In a world where people are consumed with lashing out with unkind words and negativity, it is both heartfelt and positive to see that people are still searching for goodness, times in their lives that represent something pure and innocent.
Mandy's post below is the one that started the rage on finding long-lost friends. The post got more than 38,000 retweets and almost 500,000 likes. See below.

Someone help me find my friend 🥺 He lived in Springfield Missouri. I think his name was Gilbert? This was in 2003-2004 so my memories are foggy pic.twitter.com/vTF7Be6y1a
