Ahead of a brand-new episode of 'The Real Housewives of
Durban' on Showmax this evening, Carol gets up close and personal with
Kgomotso Ndungane.
A brand-new episode of 'The Real Housewives of Durban' premieres on streaming service Showmax. The show has already proven to be a hit with audiences around the country. As fans can expect even more drama on tonight’s episode, Carol chatted to Kgomotso Ndungane about the series and dishes on how she leverages her time on the show to both create entertaining content while showcasing her business objectives.
Kgomotso is a successful businesswoman who famously made
a name for herself as the owner of an events and floral business called, Oak
Celebrations. She recently launched her own luxury home, body, and bath product
line.

The reality star admits that giving her business a boost is one of the main reasons she signed on to appear on the show. “During lockdown I created a brand called ‘Lelapa’, which is a home, body, and bath product range over and above my eventing and florist business. Since we weren’t having events during lockdown, I thought how I could turn this around and make sure that there is still cash flow in the business and that’s how ‘Lelapa’ was born.”

Kgomotso adds that she wanted to show viewers that building a successful business is doable – you just have to take the right steps. “I want people who are out there doubting themselves that their dreams can be achieved even in the midst of struggle. If you have the willpower you will have the opportunity to thrive.”

While Kgomotso is using this opportunity to build her empire, she also understands that people tune into shows like these for the drama – and she’s happy to deliver. “Drama is really important [in shows like The Real Housewives]. It wouldn’t be the show it is without some drama, let’s be honest,” Kgomotso tells Carol. “I think when a viewer is tuning in, they are watching the show for drama. At the moment, people are wondering what I am bringing to the table and are wanting me to bring some drama. For me, it’s all about understanding what my objective is for being on the show but also understanding the objective of the channel and understanding the format of the franchise. It’s entertainment and I will be bringing the people what they want!”
