Heard of the 'Barefoot Guy'? Changing the way we think about going shoeless...
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Imagine walking up to people and asking them what they think about your feet... Well, no need to imagine with this chap.
TikTok has become the place where people reveal their weird and wacky ways of living. The thing is, it may seem weird and wacky to us, but to them it is their chosen lifestyle.
And so the saying goes that we are always hesitant in understanding something when we are not well-informed on the subject matter, in other words, ignorant.
This could be said about the popular Barefoot Human and the Barefoot Guy on TikTok. He went viral last year after sharing his barefoot lifestyle and its benefits.
We recently came across the Barefoot Guy on TikTok and found his interviews with random people on the street quite interesting.
He began sharing his videos on TikTok where he would approach people on the street and ask them what they thought of his feet.

As much as we applaud him for living his life on his own terms, we're not sure we are ready to leave our beloved shoes behind.
Yes, we have heard of the benefits of walking around barefoot, but still...
Now this guy, Yoshua, The Barefoot Human, has shared some pretty icky videos of his feet and if you're not a foot person, then we suggest you not watch anything below.
But the goodness in walking around barefoot, also known as Earthing, can be so beneficial for one's mental and physical well-being. Earthing basically means walking barefoot on soil, grass or sand, anything natural.
Check out one his explanatory videos as to why he chooses to walk barefoot. Courtesy of TikTok.

"According to a report by Healthline (as set forth in The South African) benefits of walking barefoot include:
- better control of your foot position when it strikes the ground
- improvements in balance, proprioception, and body awareness, which can help with pain relief
- better foot mechanics, which can lead to improved mechanics of the hips, knees, and core
- maintaining appropriate range of motion in your foot and ankle joints as well as adequate strength and stability within your muscles and ligaments
- relief from improperly fitting shoes, which may cause bunions, hammertoes, or other foot deformities
- stronger leg muscles, which support the lower back region"
So it seems that these barefooted guys and girls walking the streets aren't just weird or wacky, but quite in tune with the deeper benefits that this practice holds.
