Gratitude for health workers at Moses Mabhida vaccination site by Northwood learners
Updated | By East Coast Radio
The learners at Northwood show thanks to the healthcare workers at the Moses Mabhida Stadium Vaccination Site.
Saying the words "Thank you" can be life altering to someone who doesn't feel appreciated, noticed or even acknowledged. And yet it is often forgotten by many of us.
A simple "thank you" can go a long way. It doesn't take a lot to say these words, but the feeling of warmth and validation that it gives others can impact the whole country, even the whole world - the more happy and appreciated we feel, the more good we want to do.
The Northwood learners had their heads and hearts in the right place when they decided to surprise the healthcare workers at the vaccination site in Moses Mabhida Stadium last Friday.
The school band, as well as some members of the school's representative council of learners, made an effort to say "thank you" in a simple but impactful way.
"The Northwood Band also serenaded staff at the site and handed out chocolates with a special note of thanks and a ribbon to the frontline workers," North Glen News reports.
It was their way of saying "thank you" to everyone, but also to commemorate Women's Day. It was both received in a positive way and sure did leave everyone with a sense of upliftment.
We have seen a lot of tragedy in South Africa of late and we felt as the RCL that we aren’t only the council for learners but a council for South Africa. We wanted to show our solidarity with women and also pay tribute to the frontline healthcare workers who are working tirelessly to keep us safe. The feedback we’ve received from everyone has been very positive and we’ve had women say we’ve made their day and month which is really special.- Nzuzo Mchunu, The President of the Northwood School RCL
On that note, we found this video of the Northwood Boys Choir singing at our studios from our archives in 2019...
