Grandmother fixes holes in grandson's stylish ripped jeans

When grandma doesn't know that ripped jeans are a whole vibe!

What may seem one way to some is something completely different to others.

And when it comes to grandparents and the younger generation, we can get lost in translation.

In this case, it was a case of lost in translation between a young boy and his grandmother.

A mother recently shared how they had sent their young son to his grandmother's house during the school break.

Aneh Melody Mitani shared that they (she and her son's father) had purchased their boy some new clothes for the holidays.

One item was a ripped pair of jeans, which they believed to be stylish.

And she was surprised to see that when her son returned, his jeans were patched up!

She confronted the young man's grandmother and this is what she had to say.

"To my surprise, uMakhulu (grandmother) spent December sewing these stylish ripped jeans all over the ripped areas that are supposed to be stylish and ripped on the jeans.” (IOL)

“I saw them rugged and I thought they were old pair of jeans so I took it upon myself to patch them up for my grandson.” (IOL)

She went on to ask Mitani why she had purchased torn clothes for her grandson, further asking if there weren't any places in Cape Town that sold "complete jeans".

Safe to say that grandma was only looking out for her grandson - and we can appreciate that!
