Fezile Mdletshe, a seasoned Fashion Designer, lecturer, and the founder of Fezile Fashion Skills Academy, spoke fire during her appearance at the African Fashion International event recently.
It's all well and good to have a passion and to want to make it work, but you have to be willing to put in the work and craft your skill.
Fezile was born and bred in Empangeni, North of Durban. Her love for fashion started at the very tender age of nine.
She got her first sewing machine at 12 years old.
Miss Fezile Mdletshe is a PhD candidate at DUT (Durban University of Technology) in Fashion and has 15 years of experience. Part of which includes her tenure as a former DUT Fashion lecturer.
Having worked with some of South Africa’s biggest fashion retail chains, like Mr Price and Edcon, she has previously mentored emerging young fashion designers through the KZN Fashion Council.
She is in a unique position to educate and guide when it comes to the industry, trends, and brand development. Fezile is very passionate about the development of untrained black fashion designers who lack access and finances to study Fashion and Clothing Design formally at Universities.
