Father carries his daughter to school amidst a transport strike in Ghana
Not only did this act win him father of the year, but also a car...
We have seen many things when it comes to parents getting their kids to school no matter what. But this scenario has got to be the most heartwarming and inspiring. As parents, we take on this role to encourage our children to go to school, because education is important.
Sometimes there isn't a need to force them to wake up every morning to get ready, sometimes it just so happens that they love to go to school. And whether you experience this or not, this story will definitely make you more grateful for everything you have been blessed with.
A young girl who was ready and dressed for school was stranded due to the Ghana Public Road Transport Union (GPRTU) strike in Accra.
"While many other parents left the child at home or made them walk… this father broke his back and walked several kilometres from Awoshie to Lapaz during the trotro strike." (MSN)
His fatherly act got the attention of many people when he was photographed by a multi-award winning photographer, David Andoh.
But the story didn't end there. The image was shared on social media and has been doing the rounds. This prompted Kenneth Awotwe Darko, a multimedia journalist from Ghana, to reach out to his social media following on Twitter and ask them for their help to find this father.
The reason: because a group of people saw his photograph and were inspired and wanted to purchase him a car.

Kenneth's actions saw tweeps retweeting the message over 8,000 times to locate the father.
Not long after the initial tweet, Kenneth shared that they were successful in finding the man.

As much as the efforts of Kenneth and his community came from a place of goodness, many tweeps came in with their critic mode in full play. Some said that this man will not be able to maintain a car, so why buy him something like that. Others said that instead of buying him a car, they should've bought the little girl's school a bus so that this can help the community.
Others defended the act and called on the critics to make a difference themselves, rather than go in on someone else's goodwill.
Waaaa listen to this. Why don't you support the young girls school to get a bus. Which can benefit many pupils in the school rather than buying a car for the girls father which will solve not even 1% of the problem at hand.

It is true though, instead of judging others for their acts at helping others, we should be motivated to share some good in the world. It's easy to stand in judgement, but it takes courage to help someone.
