Babies are always a source of excitement, especially when they are just born - small hands and feet and those big exploring eyes. They really are such miracles and we love the pureness they bring amidst all the stresses that life can throw at us.

This mother of three started experiencing abdominal pain on Monday evening and decided to make her way to the hospital on Tuesday morning. But it seemed her little one didn't want an ordinary story when it came to her arrival.

The 31-year-old went into labour on the side of Ireland Street in Verulam. The Reaction Unit South Africa came to her rescue as they called their team of medics to the scene. The woman gave birth to a healthy baby girl.

She was born at a healthy weight of 3.3kg and girl, oh, girl will this be an amazing story for her to tell her little girl one day. She is now the mother to four children and was safely transported to the hospital with her baby girl.

Check out this video of a couple from Ontario, Canada who shared their story of having to give birth to their baby on the side of a highway...
