DJ Law-T wows community with win as only female DJ at Chatsworth’s ‘Battle of the DJs’

When we think about the disc jockey industry, it is usually dominated by males.
But as we reach a time where women are becoming more and more confident in entering previously male-dominated industries, we see them rise above with their potential.
A good example is Carol Ofori herself. And now, a young DJ that wowed her community goes by the stage name, DJ Law-T – real name Thiara Naidoo.
A young and ambitious 18-year-old who has always had a passion for music.
The Merebank resident admitted that she didn’t think she would win, considering she was the only female who entered the competition.
But with a little bit of motivation, hard work, practice, and some drive, you can accomplish anything.
According to the Rising Sun Chatsworth, this is what she had to say:
“At first, I didn’t think I would win since I was the only female there, but my family and friends motivated me, and when I made it to the finals, I was ecstatic and even became more motivated to win. I practiced every day, day and night until I reached victory. When I eventually won the competition, I was so happy that all my hard work paid off and I was even more determined to grow in my DJ career.”
When it comes to her catchy stage name and the story behind it. Well, if you’re good at putting two and two together, she is a law student in her second year at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
People are always amazed at the polar opposites when it comes to her love for music and the law.

She has used her win to encourage others to follow their dreams.
“You can achieve anything you put your mind to, and you have to have passion and love for everything you do. If you can dream it, you can achieve I.”
