Crocworld rescues a venomous snake from KZN family's pool
Even snakes want to take a dip sometimes...
Can you even imagine going outside your house only to find a slithery creature sunbathing in your pool?
Well, this family from Freeland Park, Scottburgh, didn't have to imagine!
It turned out to be a stiletto snake, which is often overlooked as harmless due to their small size.
But get this, they are actually said to be responsible for most of South Africa's serious snake bites. (MSN)
According to the IOL website: "Reptile curator at Crocworld Conservation Centre Wade Kilian said the caller who found the snake had said he initially wanted to pick it up to move it, but his wife had persuaded him to call the conservation centre."
Bet he's thanking her now...
These snakes are known as ground-dwelling snakes and after rains, they are seen coming to the surface.
So there's your reason as to why he decided to visit this past weekend. Look at what the rain dragged in...
Wade managed to release the snake into a safe area shortly after capturing it.

Also known colloquially as “the side-stabbing snake”, stiletto snakes have the highest fang-to-body length ratio of any snake and can stick their fangs out the side of their mouth to bite a perceived threat.
They have potent cytotoxic venom and, while not life-threatening, they’re responsible for many amputations.
